Michael E. Callahan, EA, CPC, FSPA, MAAA is President and partner of Pentec Inc.
He is a Fellow in the American Society of Pension Actuaries (ASPA) and an Enrolled
Actuary. He is also a Certified Pension Consultant and a member of the American Academy
of Actuaries. He has 28 years of experience in the pension field. He serves on the
Board of Directors for PenChecks, Inc. He has been a frequent speaker in regards to
pension issues, has recently made presentations to the Annual Conference of the
American Society of Pension Actuaries and to the Annual Conferen of the Enrolled
Actuaries, and has provided expert witness testimony to the Pension Advisory
Council of the Department of Labor, the House Ways and Means Committee, the Senate
Finance Committee, and the Internal Revenue Service. He has several years of experience
with public retirement systems. He served on the Board of Directors for the American
Academy of Actuaries and American Society of Pension Actuaries, and is a past President
of the American Society of Pension Actuaries.
Mr. Callahan co-chairs the IRS Northeast Key District Employee Benefits Conference and
previously co-chaired ASPAs Political Action Committee.
Mr. Callahan also served on the Actuaries/Consultants Board of Directors for the International
Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.
Mr. Callahan serves on the Advisory Committee for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for
retirement and health benefits.
Mr. Callahan co-authored the original Defined Benefit Answer Book published by
Panel Publishers, Inc. along with Paul W. Densu, MSPA and Kathryn Smith, Esq.
Mr. Callahan is an Investment Advisor Representative for Eastern Point Advisors. He is
also a registered representative of Investors Capital Corporation. He is a Series 7, 24,
63, and 65, Life Insurance, Variable Annuity, Property Casualty and Health Insurance licensed.
